Cologne, Rotweinwanderweg, Ahr Valley, Altenahr, Mayschoß, Dernau, Bad Neuenahr The Baguettenbergers

Easter Weekend, April 19-21 2019. Last second trip to Cologne Germany to enjoy a long weekend. During my research I stumbled upon the Rotweinwanderweg, the red wine hiking trail along the Ahr Valley. Although it is best to visit the trail during harvest season to really enjoy the beauty of the vines, we had great weather on our 14 mile/23 km hike. You can access Altenahr via train from Cologne in about 1.5 hours. The trail is mostly along the hills and vineyards above the small towns. You can stop at whatever town or vineyard along the way to eat and drink.
