Cruising the streets of cute ALBEROBELLO #alberobello #puglia #italia

← The second stop on our road trip was the cute town of Alberobello in Puglia. This town is famous for these cute round trullo houses that of course look extra cute with a little Fiat parked next to them! The Trulli were constructed back in the 15th century and were built this way because the peasants living on the land were forced to build their homes without using mortar, stones only, so they could be easily knocked down when the tax collector came around. Some Trulli are still standing today, with the largest concentration here in this little town. Alberobello is pretty touristy now, but we had fun exploring all the little streets, and ate the BEST thing we’ve had on this trip so far – a panini from a local shop here with prosciutto, smoked burrata and fresh figs. We’re definitely coming back to France 10 lbs heavier after this trip! #alberobello #puglia #italia
Beach umbrella game on point in the city of Otranto ⛱ ~ Road trip stop No. 4 was the city of Otranto, in Puglia, on the East side at the very bottom of the boot heel. The old town of the city was built within castle walls and overlooked a port and this beautiful bay with shallow, swimming-pool-like water. Everyone could walk out waist deep and stroll from end to end. It was packed but also so relaxing. #otranto #puglia #italia →
